How do you overcome selling in a down economy? The most important thing you can do right now is to **ensure your existing customers are happy working with you**. I take that back. I mean *really* happy working with you. You don't want them to take their business elsewhere.

So, reach out to them right now. Let them know you're thinking about them and wanting to know how they're doing. **Tell them you value their relationship**. Ask if there's anything you can do to make things even better.

You can have an even greater impact if you can bring them ideas, insights and information to help them run their business better. Think about ways you can help them be more efficient or productive. Think about ways you can **help them reduce their costs or increase revenue.**

And then, **get even more creative**. Think about other parts of their company who could potentially benefit from your product or services. Consider setting up an active and ongoing program to expand your business in these firms.
